Minutes of the February 14th, 2007 Meeting

 

To finish serving as President for 3 consecutive terms, President Vinnie lowered the gavel one last time.
Minutes of the January meeting were approved as printed.

Old Business

The Treasurer’s Report-

Art gave the treasurers report and gave a thanks to Dick Swanson for the many Christmas pictures that are now online.

Membership-

Nick Sandy S. are eligible to be voted in, but were not present.

Historian-

The new and improved historian book will be in disc format, and available to purchase your own copy for a very small fee. But send pictures, pictures, pictures, so there will be a disc/to make.

Scholorship.

Scholarship, nothing new to report..

Website-

The website is current.

NWACC-

All rule proposals passed except one.
The newest elected NWACC president has resigned, leaving the position now open. Meagan has been approved to serve and fill the vacancy by C de O. Any other volunteers, contact George or Meagan. If Meagan becomes the new President, she would like another club member to serve as our club rep. George was nominated to fill that position.

Sponsorship Committee-

Jim and Jane, owners of Cornerstone RV are our newest sponsors, coming in at a bronze level. Rich, owner of LaMan automotive and Wayne owner of Wayne’s Ground Maintenance have upgraded their sponsorships to the silver level. A big thanks to all of you..

National Corvette Museum

George has a museum DVD to share with the club, showing some of the expansion project. Hopefully we can view that in the near future.

Sunshine committee

Frankie reported that Susan and Eric both had knee surgery and doing well. Any illness, surgery, or you know of someone that needs a little cheering up, let Frankie know.

Events & Activities-

Upcoming events:

All City Rally (ACR) dates have been changed. The pre-run is 4/1/07 and the actual rally is 4/22. Don’t forget to mark your calendars and sign up to work the event and run the prerun.

Lions Pancake breakfast 3/17. Cars are needed for display. If you want to rally to breakfast, meet at Chinook School at 9AM. Nick and Sugar donated 2 tickets for raffle for the breakfast.

VetteFest ’07, date not yet official.

Bob Hill has been working on the all car club picnic and looking at the Yelm City Park, Sunday 4/29.

New Business

Tumwater Valley Bar and Grill donated dinner for two as one of our raffle prizes, to celebrate Valentines Day. Also Jim and Jane donated two cakes to help celebrate. Thanks to all of you.

Dr Jim brought up the fact that by mailing the newsletter, the sponsors lose visibility of their advertising. Larry also agreed. The online version doesn’t have the same impact, as the mailed copy. A committee of Michael, Leo, Dr. Jim, Larry and any other volunteers will bring back a solution to the board of the newsletter version. To mail or email. Paper copies are always available.

Final nominations and election of officers 2007:

President; Brian Cousineau and Jon Cox, with Brian as the new President.

VP- Randy Harris

Treasurer: George Schwartz and Denny Miller, with Denny Miller as the new treasurer.

And secretary: Josette Miller.

Congratulations to all of you!!

A motion was made to drop the Lemay Museum sponsorship donation the club gives every year. The motion failed and the club will continue to be a sponsor of the Lemay Museum.

The club voted to raise the 2007 dues from $45 to $55 for a couple and from $22.50 to $27.50 for a single.

Budget discussion was tabled until the March meeting.

Sugar received a special valentine, ( from Kluh Jewelers)a gorgeous heart diamond pendant.(Dropping in at Kluhs, doesn’t always get you a gift.)

The cash pot was won by Russ, who will supply the March door prize.

The meeting was adjourned at 8:20..
