May 2010 Minutes

CALL TO ORDER / INTRODUCTIONS / APPROVAL OF MINUTES

The meeting was called to order at 7:00 p.m., May 12, 2010 at the Hawks Prairie Inn by President Meagan Renick. Each member introduced themselves as well as their car(s).

APPROVAL OF MINUTES
The minutes from April 14, 2010 were approved with no additions or corrections.

Committee Reports

 
TREASURER’S REPORT – Larry Weniger
Treasurer Larry Weniger presented the club with a slideshow presentation of the current account balances.  Mr. Weniger reminded the club that up to date information is available on the club website.

NWACC – George Schwartz
President Renick informed the club that the first NWACC Auto Cross will be held on May 15th at Sanderson Field.  For more auto cross information please contact Meagan.

NCM – George Schwartz
George was unable to attend the meeting, no report was presented.

HISTORIAN- Randy Harris
Randy informed the club that there was no new history.

SPONSORSHIP – Peggy Rogers
Peggy reported that all sponsors have renewed for the year.

SCHOLARSHIP – Karen Johnson
Karen was excited to announce the new automotive building at SPSCC.  Karen explained that they were invited to attend the Presidents Gathering on Tuesday, May 23th.  (See Presidents Gathering under New Business)

WEBSITE – Art Carter
Webmaster Carter reported that several of the website issues brought up at the last meeting have been corrected.  Meagan Renick explained that members who paid dues but have not been allowed to view the website, should be able to view it now. Club member Eric Ries explained that he was still unable to access some of the website features.  Art said he was still trying to pin point a few issues, but will look into it.  President Renick advised the club to look at the website and if problems persist, please email her and she will follow it through to make sure it gets taken care of.

MEMBERSHIP – Art Carter
Membership Chair, Art informed the group that membership is up-to-date.


SUNSHINE – Frankie Sokso/Jenni Hatfield
President Meagan announced the new Sunshine Committee Chair, Jenni Hatfield, and thanked Frankie Sokso for her years of service.  As a general note from the new Sunshine Chair, individual health concerns/names of members will not be listed in the minutes to respect their privacy.  If you would like to contact a member who is need of sunshine, please contact Jenni Hatfield.

EVENTS AND ACTIVITIES – Josette Miller and Jon Cox

E & A Chair Josette said that the May calendar was out and full of events.   Chair Miller announced that the 4th of July BBQ will be held at Amy & Jason Moorash’s house.  The Lakefair “After Parade” BBQ is still looking for a location.  If anyone would like to host the event, please contact Josette or Jon.  (UPDATE: In an email from Josette after the meeting a location for this event has been found:  A big thank you to Craig & Vicki Forster for opening their home to us after the Lakefair Parade!)

39 Corvette Owners responded to the recent event survey.  The Top 5 Events that members would like to participate in again are:  #1 - Mr. Rainer Tour, #2 - Lions Club Breakfast, #3 - Corvette High Performance Open House, #4 - Christmas Party and #5 - Mt. St. Helen’s Tour.

Rally Master Mark Twardzicki  presented Jason Moorash with a certificate and $50 cash for 1st place in the CdeO Poker Rally held on May 2, 2010.  Mark thanked everyone who helped and said a special thank you to Larry & Karen Johnson for allowing the club to use Corvette High Performance as the starting point for the rally and their support in the days prior to the event.  Rally Master Mark noted that the club made $405 profit and graciously retired as the CdeO Rally Master.  President Renick volunteered to be the Rally Master for next year.

CdeO Postmaster Larry Weniger said that several events came to the post office box.  Look for an email from Postmaster Larry with event invitations the club received.  

Member Peggy Rogers announced that Operation Backpack will take place on August 18, 2010 and Morningside will host a Gimmick Rally on September 19, 2010.

OLD BUSINESS


Ann Wax informed the club the jacket order process went very smooth.  The club thanked Ann for stepping up to the plate and organizing the clubs order. 

NEW BUISNESS



Member Larry Johnson requested to have 15 Corvettes displayed at the SPSCC Presidents Club reception on May 23, 2010.  Larry will be sending out an email with detailed information within the next few days.  Larry stated that this is a good event to promote the Corvette Club.

Member Doug Rogers thought that a North Cascade Highway Cruise would be a nice club tour.  Josette Miller stated that the Marque Club of Seattle used to do a North Cascade Highway Cruise; she volunteered to see if they still do the tour and provide the club with more information.  Several members showed interested in taking the tour.

ADJOURNMENT / RAFFLE

 
The 50/50 raffle winner responsible for bringing next month’s raffle prize is Mike & Connie Norquist.

The meeting was adjourned at 8:00 p.m.  The next meeting will be held at 7:00 p.m. on June 9, 2010 at the Hawks Prairie Inn.  Minutes submitted by Jenni Hatfield, CdeO Secretary.
