August 11th, 2010 Meeting Minutes

CALL TO ORDER / INTRODUCTIONS / APPROVAL OF MINUTES


The meeting was called to order at 7:00 p.m., August 11, 2010 at Hawk’s Prairie Inn. Each member introduced themselves as well as their car(s). The minutes from the June/July meetings were approved with no corrections.  In an effort to save time and allow for an evening drive/tour several committee reports were not given.

Committee Reports


TREASURER’S REPORT – Larry Weniger
Account balances and spending were reviewed in detail with a slide show presentation.  Larry stated that up to date information is available on the club website.

MEMBERSHIP – Art Carter
Art made a motion to the club to allow Doug & Velma Rodgers and Wayne & Barb Johnson to join the club.  Motion was passed.  The club welcomed them with a round of applause.

EVENTS AND ACTIVITIES – Josette Miller and Jon Cox
Josette quickly announced the following activities:  Operation Backpack, Thursday September 2, 2010, a school supply list will be emailed to the club.  Those participating in Operation Backpack please meet at Hawks Prairie Inn at 6:30pm.  Classical Glass 5-Star in Dupont, WA.  XXX All Corvette Car Show, Issaquah, WA.   Josette announced that there was still room available on the Astoria Days/Regatta Parade/Evergreen Aviation Space Museum Tour.  Josette told the club that she is still looking into having a jacket night in Shelton with a trip to the old A & W for dinner and an outdoor movie at the drive in theater.  For up to date details please refer to the club website to get up to date changes and contact info.


OLD BUSINESS

Megan Renick explained the Executive Committee’s decision to move forward and host the Capital City Vette Fest.  Megan apologized for not bringing the decision to the club for approval before moving forward with the event planning.  Several members expressed their concern for the Executive Committee’s actions and asked to be removed from the clubs email list.  A motion was made to continue to move forward with the planning of the Capital City Vette Fest.  Motion was approved.

Anne Wax told the club that she was not able to get a group rate for the radio purchase.  She has contacted each member that requested a radio.
 

NEW BUISNESS


Megan presented awards to the following members for being an outstanding committee chair:  Jon Cox (Events & Activities), Frankie Sokso (Sunshine Committee) and Randy Harris (Historian).  The club thanked them for their time and dedication.


ADJOURNMENT / RAFFLE


The meeting was adjourned after the evening cruise at Norma’s.

The next meeting will be held at 7:00 p.m. on August 8, 2010 at Hawk Prairie Inn.
