CALL TO ORDER / INTRODUCTIONS / APPROVAL OF MINUTES


The meeting was called to order at 7:00 p.m., September 8, 2010 at Hawk’s Prairie Inn. Each member introduced themselves as well as their car(s). Secretary, Jenni Hatfield apologized to the club for misplacing last month’s meeting minutes.  She informed the club that the meeting minutes are done and asked Meagan Renick to email them to the club.  Art Carter informed the club that the August meeting minutes are already up on the website.

Committee Reports


TREASURER’S REPORT – Larry Weniger
Larry presented an in depth slideshow of all account balances and club spending. Meagan thanked Amy & Jason Moorash and Craig & Vicki Forster for hosting the summer barbecues. Larry stated that up to date information is available on the club website.  

NWACC – George Schwartz
George informed the club that NWACC reviewed both insurance policies and has decided to stay with the current carrier.  NWACC has also decided to add an additional 1 Million to their current policy and will pick up the cost of the extra charges.  Meagan informed the club that because NWACC has structured their billing differently, from $15 per member unit to $7.50 per person, CdeO has saved money in NWACC dues.  George asked the club if they would like to make a contribution to NWACC’s upcoming End of the Year Banquet.  He explained that typically clubs will donate a flat amount and/or raffle prizes.  A motion was made to donate $100 to NWACC for the End of the Year Banquet.  Motion carried.  The NWACC Year-End Banquet will be held on November 6, 2010 in Portland, OR.  For more banquet information please contact George Swartz or visit nwacconline.com.

NCM – George Schwartz
George told the club that last weekend NCM wrapped up a big event in Bowling Green, KY.  Fill Corey of Perryville, Kentucky purchased the winning raffle ticket and took home a brand new 2011 Black convertible Corvette.  For upcoming NCM raffle information visit www.corvettemuseum.com.

HISTORIAN- Marilyn Trogden
Marilyn reported on the tour to McMinnville/Astoria was great.  Marilyn asked the members who attended the tour to please send in their pictures.  Marilyn stated that she is just getting the hang of being the Historian and asked the club to bear with her.  

SPONSORSHIP – Peggy Rogers
Peggy announced that there would be nothing new with the Sponsorship Committee until the first of the year.  The club is not currently soliciting sponsorships.

WEBSITE – Art Carter
Art reported that the website was up-to-date and the August meeting minutes can be reviewed.

MEMBERSHIP – Art Carter
Membership is up-to-date.


SUNSHINE – Jenni Hatfield
It was announced that a CdeO member had to have emergency surgery.  Jenni will reach out to the CdeO member.

EVENTS AND ACTIVITIES – Josette Miller
Josette presented a picture slideshow of the tour to McMinnville/Astoria and their various stops along the way.  Josette reported on Operation Backpack, the club donated 47 backpacks (filled with school supplies) to the North Thurston School District.  The club enjoyed the LeMay Museum Open House picture slideshow.
Josette announced several upcoming events:
Corvette High Performance Open House – Saturday, September 11- 9am to 3pm.
Seattle in September – September 10 -12, 2010.
Capital City Vette Fest VII – September 18, 2010…..Spaces still available!!
NWACC Autocross #4 (last one of the year!) – September 19, 2010
Morningside Road Rally – September 19, 2010…..Spaces still available!!
North Cascades Loop Tour – September 25 – 26, 2010……Spaces still available!!

Josette announced the movie selection for a possible, Jacket Night Event to Shelton, WA.  She informed the club that a location has not been selected for a Halloween Party.  If you would like to volunteer please contact Josette.  Josette asked for a show of hands on interest in a Halloween party this year.  Only about six people raised their hands.  It was suggested that the club visit the Haunted Corn Maze this year.  Josette will look into this option.  Up to date event information is available on the website.

OLD BUSINESS


Meagan reported that the Capital City Vette Fest VII has roughly 60 registered cars.  Over 75% of them are from non-CdeO members.  George Swartz will hold a judges training on Tuesday at Norma’s – 6pm.  Peggy Rogers asked the club if they would be interested in ordering shirts for Vette Fest, each shirt would cost $16.  Several members were interested in purchasing t-shirts.  Peggy informed the club that to order 50 shirts she would need to have 50% down.  A motion was made for the club to use funds from either the Rally Fund or the Merchandising Fund to fulfill the 50% down needed for the shirt order.  Motion carried.  An additional motion was made to order an additional 10 shirts for registrants to purchase.  Motion carried.  A total of 60 shirts will be ordered for the event, shirts that are not purchased by club members will be available for purchase at the Capital City Vette Fest VII.  Registration is still open for the Capital City Vette Fest VII.  To register contact Meagan Renick or visit www.corvettesdeolympia.org.

NEW BUSINESS


Meagan announced that the club will be placing an order for vinyl Corvettes de Olympia stickers.  These stickers are designed to go to be placed on your windows.  You can order the sticker in several different colors to match your car.  The stickers are $15 each.  To order a Corvette de Olympia vinyl window sticker, please contact Meagan Renick.

ADJOURNMENT / RAFFLE


The 50/50 raffle winner responsible for bringing next month’s raffle prize is: Marilyn Trogden.

The meeting was adjourned at 8:07pm.  The next meeting will be held at 7:00 p.m. on October 13, 2010 at the Hawk Prairie Inn.
